Matching questions

You can create answers for matching questions by combining multiple letters (e.g., A & B) in our multiple-choice answer type.

This allows for a variety of combinations.  For example, you could use this suggested legend:

Note that the above combinations are just a guide - the flexibility is entirely up to you!

For example. You can tell students that Z = ABCDE.

Administering Tests with Matching Questions

We recommend two approaches to ensure smooth administration:

Option 1:

Adjust the letter designation on your text. For example:

Retain your original test lettering and put a matching legend at the front of your class for your students to refer to.

As a final example, if you used the above legend, and your test answers were:

  1. C
  2. G (So tell students that G = A&C)
  3. C
  4. E
  5. D
  6. B
